Khosrow Sinai

Biography

Khosrow Sinai (born January 18, 1940) director and playwright Childhood and Education He was born in Sari, one of the cities located at the side of the Mazandaran Sea. Sinai after leaving Sari for Tehran, the capital city, resided there to receive his diploma from the Alborz high school. Then from 1959 to 1963, he went to Austria to study in the Technical faculty in the field of architecture, and simultaneously he studied music composing in the music Academy and Dramatic Arts of Vienna. In 1966 he was graduated from the Vienna Music Conservatory and then after one year he completed his education in the field of cinema and television directing and playwriting from the Vienna Music Academy and Dramatic Arts. Khosrow within these years and from 1958 to 1967 was the supervisor of the department of accordion of Vienna conservatory. Professional Activities Sinai after returning to Iran in 1968, worked for five years in the Ministry of Culture and Art. He also started to cooperate with National T.V. from 1972 and this cooperation lasted up to 1975. From then on he has worked independently as a cinema activist. Sinai from 1992 Started to teach in the fields of cinema directing, playwriting, music of the film, the principles of documentary film making in various art faculties and institutions. In the report of Sinai’s, there are more than 100 films for cinema and short and long documentary films.
