Biography

Reza Babak (born March 20, 1945) actor of Theater, cinema and Iran T.V. Childhood and Education At first, his family name was Feshangchi but he changed it to Babak. He was born in the Abbasi quarter, one of the southern areas of Tehran. Bahram was the name of his primary school and when his family moved to the quarter of Salsabil, one of the areas in the southwest of Tehran, he followed the second course in an Islamic Haaeri School. He was graduated from the acting and directing branch of the Tehran University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1974. Among his most influential masters were Pari Saberi, Hamid Samandarian, Bahram Beyzaie, Parviz Mamnoon, Mohammad Koasar, Ali Rafiei, Nosrat Karimi, Morteza Momayyez, Shahin Farhat, Mrs. Barkeshly. Professional Activities Reza Babak’s first experience in the field of acting traces back to the days that he was student of a primary school and he followed acting earnestly in high school too. After being graduated from university he joined the theatrical group of the newly founded artistic group of the Center for Intellectual Growth of Children and Young Adult and acting in various theaters. He experienced the T.V. theater too and due to some difficulties, he inevitably separated from the Center and joined the Children Today Theatrical Group of T.V. which was supervised by Davood Rashidi. His first cinematographic experience was acting in a film was called Abacus by Bahram Beizaie directing, the film was made in 1977, but by the victory of the Islamic Revolution, its screening was forbidden. The T.V. serial of Ziba Barbers is one of his most memorable works. Personal Life Reza Babak in the first years of his university life, married Zari Babak, and the fruit of this marriage is a daughter, called Bahar.
