Biography
Dariush Farhang Darakhshani (born November 25, 1947) Iranian director, screenwriter, and actor Childhood and Education He was born in Abadan and when he was only 8, he lost his father and his mother took them to Joopar – mother’s birthplace – one of the suburbs of Kerman. He passed school and high school in Kerman and after being accepted in Tehran University, he moved to Tehran and in 1973 was graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University. Professional Activities He started to work as an actor in Theater in 1966 and in 1968 he founded the Theatrical Group of Piadeh. His first acting in cinema traces back to 1980 when he appeared in a short film under the name of Salamander produced by Varooj Karim Masihi. Then, he started his professional activity in cinema as a screenwriter and an actor. He directed a 65-minute film named “Rasool, Son of Abolqasem”. His first T.V. product was a serial of the story of “Sultan and Shepherd” which was broadcasted in the first months of 1980 which was welcomed vehemently. Farhang appeared in other sections of the industry of cinema such as scene and cloth designing, titling, producing, and so on. Personal Life He married Susan Taslimi, a theater actor, in 1971 and the fruit of this marriage is a daughter called Tooka. They separated from each other a few years after Revolution, due to the migration of Taslimi from Iran.
