Biography

Kambozia Partovi (born March 9, 1956) Iranian contemporary screenwriter, director, and actor Childhood and Education He was born in Rustam Abad, one of the small towns of Gilan Province. His father was an employee of the Office of Post, Telephone, and Telegraph and after moving to Tehran he resided in the area of Nezam Abad. Kambozia passed the days of primary school and then enrolled in the school of Mohammad Reza Shah located in Moalem street. He followed his education in the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (the Faculty of Cinema and Theater) of the Art University. But after the victory of the Revolution, he left the faculty midway. Professional Activities Partovi started his artistic activity by making a short film in the Damavand Azad Cinema. When he was a university student he directed a number of short documentary films for T.V. and at the same time he directed a long film for the second channel of T.V. which was called “Optic Glasses”. He experienced directing in professional cinema with a film was called “The Fish”. Among his most outstanding works in the field of directing one can refer to the films of Fish, Golnar, the Game of Great Men, Café Transit, Curtain, and Truck. He is the playwright of the T.V. serial of “Primors Flower” and the writer of the first scheme of “Sergeant.” Kambzia Partovi was the director’s advisor for the films “Like a Man” (Reza Kahani), Round the Clock and Five Stars and in the films of The Yalda Night (Kumars Poorahmad), One Night, Three Woman (Niki Karimi) was the advisor of the playwright. Partovi cooperated with Abbas Kia Rustami in Making the film “The House of Friend” and in writing of the scenario of the film “The Deserted Station”. Personal Life In 1982, he married Freshteh Sadr Orafaei, an actor and puppeteer of cinema and T.V. The fruit of this marriage is two sons.
