Biography

Alireza Ghiyamati (born August 23, 1972, in Torbate Jam, Iran) is a distinguished Iranian scholar of Shahnameh studies, Persian literature, and Sufism. He completed his primary, secondary, and higher education in the cities of Torbate Jam and Mashhad, earning a Ph.D. in Persian Language and Literature. Dr. Ghiyamati is currently a professor at Farhangian University of Mashhad and is recognized as one of the prominent contemporary researchers in Iranian epic and mystical literature.

Academic and Scholarly Activities

Dr. Ghiyamati has actively participated in numerous academic and cultural conferences. He has presented papers and delivered lectures at 35 international and 71 national conferences, and has served as the scientific secretary of eight major international conferences, including:

  • Mysticism and Sufism in Central Asia
  • The Shahnameh along the Silk Road
  • The Millennium of Sheikh Jam
  • From the Citadel of Herat to the Citadel of Tabriz
  • The Seal of Persian Poetry

In 2024 (1403 SH), Dr. Ghiyamati received the “Gand-e Parsi” (Persian Sugar) Award at the 10th Persian Language Festival, organized by the University of Westminster, London — a recognition of his outstanding contributions to Persian literary scholarship.
