Biography

Safarzadeh, Manoochehr (born Tehran, 1943) Iranian contemporary painter Manoochehr Safarzadeh was born in Tehran, the capital city of Iran. He passes the courses of primary and high schools in his birth place and then he followed his studies in the Conservatory of Fine Arts allocated for boys. He received his certificate in the field of painting in 1961 and then he was one of the first groups of student who was accepted in the newly established Faculty of Decorative Arts, but after two years he left the Faculty. Professional Activities Safarzadeh says that he has worked assiduously more than fifty years in the field of painting and the great number of works that he has created testifies to his ceaseless effort. From 1967 he was employed by National T.V. Organization to decorate the scenes of its various programs, but in 1975 he left that organization too. He travelled to European countries to learn more and to expand and deepen his artistic experiences. By the beginning of the social and political developments that terminated to Islamic Revolution he returned to Iran and followed the job of painting in various forms including mural painting. It is a pity that most of his mural paintings are destroyed.
