Biography

Yashayaei, Haroun (born 24th August 1935) Iranian producer in Iran cinema Childhood and Education He was born in a Jewish crowded family in the Oadlajan quarter, located in the south of Tehran. From the birthday he was called Parviz and for the first time, he found his real name when his mother was enrolling him in the school. Later he was called to the cinema as Parviz Khan. When he was only 3 months he lost his father who was a butcher and the responsibility of the Yashayaei family with nine children was transferred to his mother and his older brother and inevitably they followed the job of the father. But Haroun who was the youngest boy in the family followed his educations with his mother’s encouragement. He passed the primary course in the Noor-e-Sadaqat school and then followed his studies in the high school of Alliance and in 1959 entered the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences of Tehran University to study philosophy and social science. Professional Activities By the formation of the antisemitism parties and with the concurrence of the events of oil Nationalization and due to the proximity of one of the Parties’ office to the alliance high school, Haroun who was in the 5th grade of high school along with his friends found some clashes with the followers of that party and for this reason Haroun inclined to leftist groups. He was detained for six months and in the prison, he became familiar with Bijan Jazani who later became one of the activists of the Fadaieyan Khalq Guerrilla and after being freed he established the Persepolis Propaganda Organization with the cooperation of Jazani. The main activity of the organization was to prepare the creative business advertisement later. This organization changed its name to Tabli Film and after Jazani was killed by Savak (Iran intelligence service), the office continued its job under the name of “Film Maker Studio”. Haroun Yashyaei was among the Jewish people who joined the Revolution with his close friends. He believed in the values of the Revolution and tried to encourage other Jews to stay in Iran and by the cooperation of his friends he established the “Jews’ Intellectual Society”. Yashayaei in the years of pre and post-Revolution was one of the civilian activists and believed in cooperation and mutual understanding of the Muslim and Jewish people. He was very active in charity affairs and played a great role in managing the hospital of medical doctor Sapir. Yashayie experienced his first movie with the film “Prize” which was directed by Ali Reza Davoodnejad and then after he produced a lot of magnificent films as follow: The Prize, 1982 The Lessee, 1986 The Captain Khorshid, 1986 In The Bed of Storm, 1988 Hi My Homeland, Iran, 1988 O Iran, 1989 Hamoon, 1989 Kimia, 1994 Bread and Flower Pot, 1995 The Town of Women, 1998 The Wall, 2007 Awards and Achievements He was appreciated by the Fajr Film Festival as the best producer after the victory of the Revolution, 2008 Received the first-grade license of film production from the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance, 2015 Received the first-grade license of film producer from the Guild of Film Producers, 2018
