Ghodratollah Agheli Information

Agheli, Ghodratollah (born 1963 in Jolfa of Azerbaijan) After passing the primary and high school courses he was trained in the Mirak Conservatory in Tabriz to be designer and painter and as a trainee he enjoyed the classes of masters of conservatory. He followed the various aspects of these arts assiduously and due to his deep interest in art, especially painting he moved Tehran and studied the art of sculpturing for 4 years in the Center of Plastic Arts and received certificate of art and from that day to today he ceaselessly is working professionally in the realm of art. Within these years Aqeli has held 25 individual exhibitions and has participated in 60 group exhibitions, biennales, art expos in Iran, Germany, France, England, Austria, Ukraine, Morocco, Dubai and Qatar. The working file of Aqeli is very rich he has created about 40 monumental voluminous works, bas-relives plates and urban reminisces. His voluminous works are kept in the collections of Iran Art Museums and the private collections as well. Aqeli besides afore mentioned activities he is a dynamic artist in the arena of social art programming, for instance he is a member of managing board and the secretary of the Association of Iran Sculptors, founder and manager of the comprehensive professional cite of “Iran Sculpture”. He also has embarked many experimental and field researches as well as analytical studies and has written a number professional articles such as “The Researches on Studying the Roots and Origins of the designs of Rugs”, “The Collection of Islamic Images” and “Fifty Years Iran Contemporary Art” and so on… the book of “One Hundred Years Modern Sculpturing” is his latest work in the field of his researches which is in print. The collection of “Venus in the Land of Disasters” and the collection of “Gradual Death of a Smile” were presented in the Azad (open) Gallery in the years of 2012 and 2013 respectively. His latest achievement under the title of the “Collection of Middle East” was displayed in an exhibition under the name of “Oil” in Shirin Gallery, 2014
