Kioumars Kiyasat

Biography

Kiyasat, Kioumars (born in 1949) contemporary Iranian painter and caricaturist Childhood and Educations Kioumars Kiasat was born in Tabriz, the center of Eastern Azerbaijan. He was enrolled in the Farvardin Primary School in 1955 and after passing this course in 1961, he was sent to Amir Khizi high school and completed this course in 1967. By passing the course of military service he entered in Tabriz University. At first, he studied physics, but after one year he left this field and followed his studies in the field of Electronic Electricity and graduated from the university this department. Jobs Kioomarth Kiasat bypassing the military course was employed by TAVANIR, the company affiliated to the Ministry of Power and was retired in 2002 from the Azerbaijan Regional Power Company. Artistic Activities From 1971 as a caricaturist and designer he started his cooperation with the journals and papers such as Ferdowsi, Negin, Book of Friday, Ettellaat, Keyhan, Keyhan Caricature, Adineh, the weekly journal of Mahd-e-Azadi (the cradle of freedom.) Unlike most of caricaturists he did not work the for comic journals and mostly showed interest in caricatures which their base was designing and inclined to intellectual issues and from the conceptual view he totally inclined towards serious issues, beyond the common place jokes and jests. In the artistic records of Kioomarth Kiasat, one can see the participation of more than one hundred individual and group exhibitions either in Iran or other countries like Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Bulgaria, Austria, Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Italy and Belgium could be seen.
