Biography

The Biography of Iran Darroudi Darroudi, Iran (born Sep. 1, 1936) Iranian contemporary painter, critic, T.V. and cinema director and writer Childhood and Educations She was born in Meshed in a well-to-do family. Her mother was from a household of Caucasian traders who have migrated to Iran and essentially, she was from Badkoobeh and her father was from a celebrated family whose members were tradesmen. When Iran Darroudi was only one year old for the sake of her father’s business her family moved to Germany, but by the beginning of the war, with great difficulties, they returned to Iran and after residing in Meshed for a few years they choose Tehran, the capital city, as their permanent residence. She was psychologically an introverted girl for this reason she had rough days in the years of primary and secondary schools for she never showed any interest in the classic lessons. Since she liked painting, her older sister, Pooran, persuaded her to attend the free painting classes and learn this art. In 1975 to study in the field of painting he went to Paris to attend the classes of the Higher college of Paris fine Arts (Beaux-Arts‎) and for five years she studied music and painting bypassing the course of Beaux-Arts‎ she entered into the Louvre school and studied the Art History. Then she studied the Art of Vitra in Belgium and then attended the T.V. program directorship and produced in a classes Institute New York. Professional Activities Iran Darroudi after acquiring experiences in various fields returned to Iran as a professional artist and held her first exhibition in modern style in April 1960 in the Tehran Farhang Hall. After a while first, she returned to Europe and then departed for the USA and in that country worked as a journalist and simultaneously she produced various programs for the television of the USA. She produced some documentary films about the art of Iran. Darroudi after marriage in the USA backed Iran with her husband and was employed by the Iran National T.V. and within 6 years she produced more than 80 successful documentary films about Iranian and foreign artists. Her valuable and magnificent documentaries persuaded the Sharif Industrial University to invite her as an honorary professor to teach history and the cognition of art. These T.V. activities were stopped with her resignation from National T.V. and Darroudi again turned to hold painting exhibitions and writing. Heretofore she has displayed her works in more than 63 individual exhibitions and 250 group exhibitions in Iran and throughout the world. She had delivered many speeches on the subject of art, painting,  and Iranian artist women in Iran and other countries and has published many critical and artistic articles. Personal life Iran Darroudi met Parviz Moqaddasi, the director of theater and cinema in the USA and it was Iran Darroudi who enthusiastically asked him to marry her and Parviz accepted her proposal. But unfortunately, Moqaddasi died in the first years of their marriage and Darroudi did not open the window of her heart to any man anymore. Individual Exhibitions 1.
