Davoud Ganjei
Biography
Ganjei, Davoud (born June 14, 1942, in Rey Town, a town adjacent to Tehran, the capital city), Iranian contemporary violin and kamancheh (an Iranian fiddle) player Davood Ganjehei learned to play Kamancheh from master Abdollah Jahan Panah and violin from Wolfgang Valish, the Austrian master. Bypassing the course of high school, he followed his studies in the field of music in the Faculty of Art of Tehran University, and in this period he enjoyed the presence of great masters such as Noor Ali Boroomand and Dr. Dariush Safvat. By receiving his B.A. he was employed by the Center of Preservation and Promotion of Iran Music and while he was researching the various aspects of Iranian Music, learned a great deal through cooperating with great music masters such as Saeed Hormozi, Yosef Forootan, and Mahmood Karimi. He also followed his effort to gain more experience in kamancheh playing in the presence of Ali Asghar Bahari. Among his art activities, one can refer to his teachings in all levels of educational and art centers, holding concerts in various cities of the world and participating in domestic and foreign festivals with the company of music groups of the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Iran Music. He also from the starting point of the establishment of the Center of Preservation and Promotion of Iran Music, worked there as a trainer. His positions are as follows: 1.
