Biography

Germchi, Babak (born Oct. 1959), Iranian painter, graphic designer and expert in the field of manual printing Childhood and Educations He was born in Ardabil. His father was a physician and a pharmacist who was working in the Ardabil Health Office, Babak was grown up in a rather wealthy family and enjoyed enough welfare. His father was entangled with political issues of Mosadeq era, therefore he grew up in a political sphere. The name of his primary school was Kamal and his secondary school was named Jahan-e-Oloom (the world of sciences). In 1979 after succeeding in the entering university examination he left Ardabil for Tehran to follow his studies in the Faculty of Decorative Arts. By the happening of cultural revolution and its ensued political events, he was banned to follow his studies and after a long elapse at length he received his B.A. in 1989. Professional Activities He started his artistic activities with designing and while he was learning graphic he became familiar with painting too and he stepped in the amazing world of painting. He produced poster and bulletin for Iranian literary and cultural characters and when he was working in the section of silk screen printing of a plant, his attention was turned to the methods of printing and started to create an innovative plan, that is he mixed the art of designing with printing. Then he created some tableaus of copper which were blended with the color of enamel that invited the glances of viewers. He has held many exhibitions in the years of his artistic activities and has trained many trainees. Personal Life He married in 1988 and the fruit of this marriage is two children, but after a few years this union terminated to separation. Exhibitions 1.
