Biography

Olov, Zhaleh (born 21 March1927) Iranian actress, radio and T.V. presenter, dubber Childhood and Education She was born in Sangehlaj quarter one of the old quarters of Tehran, the capital city, in a family whose members were all literature lovers. Her grandpa was a calligrapher and her father while he was a member of the Royal army showed a great interest in literature and poetry. Zhaleh passed primary and secondary schools in Tehran in No-Akhtaran and Khosrow Khavar respectively and concurrently she studied Persian classic texts and poems. Then she attended primary college and after passing the courses of college due to her attachment to the theater she attended the courses of the conservatory of cinema and theater artist training and graduated from there. Professional Activities Zhaleh Olov from the years of training in the conservatory stepped into the theater scene and after graduation performed in the Ferdowsi and Tehran Theaters. She achieved her first experience in cinema in 1948 by playing in the film the Life Story, directed by Ali Daryabeygi, and since she possessed a pleasant voice she was invited to Iran Radio as a presenter. From 953 she joined the dubbing group and dubbed in many films for the world celebrated actresses like Sofia Loren. Later she undertook the responsibility of dubbing great important T.V. serials like “The Years Far from the Home (Oshin)”, she also undertook many roles in Radio plays. She was one of the founders of Nightly Tales of Iran Radio.
