Biography

Sarir, Mohammad (born 1944), Iranian contemporary musician and composer Childhood and Educations He was born in Tehran the capital city of Iran, he passed the primary course in Adab School and while he was passing the second course in the mathematics branch, he attended nocturnal classes of music conservatory and in 1964 he was graduated from that art school. He possesses a B.A. certificate of economics and M.A. in political science from Tehran University and a Ph.D. in economy from Vienna University. Sarir in year 1972 entered the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University in the field of music and was graduated from that Faculty in 1975. He also received the certificates of B.A. and M.A. in the field of music composition from the Academy of Vienna Fine Arts respectively years of 1978 and 1985. Professional Activities In 1965 he was invited by Iran Radio as a composer and a member of the great orchestra of Radio and then undertook the responsibility to teach the art trainers of the Ministry of Education in the Institute of Art Trainers. At the present time, he is the head of the managing board of the Iran House of Music. Positions and Jobs Mohammad Sarir while was working assiduously in the field of music, on the basis of his studies in university, was employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in 2003 was retired from that Ministry. During his carrier in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he was the representative of the Ministry in the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and International Energy Agency and supervisor of Consular Affairs of Iran Embassy in Vienna within the years of 1975 and 1979 and from 1980 to 1984 he was the supervisor of the affairs of Far East in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and member of the Group of Energy Studies and International Economy and from 1985 to 1999 also he was the member of the Scientific and Cultural Counsel of Iran in the European Office of United Nation in Geneva from 1999 to 2002.
