Fereshteh Setayesh

Biography

She herself narrates her own life in this way: I got acquaintance with the world of painting from 1981. When I was only 18, I started to attend in the painting classes of Aidin Aqdashloo and it was a starting point for a long travel full of topsy-turvy and upheavals. After my first exhibition that attracted the glances of audience and the critics, I came to this idea that Art is my Destiny. I spent 16 years of my artistic activity for painting the real scenes of lifeless nature with colorful pencil and then gradually I took distance from realism to step in the realm of plastic arts. By exchanging and replacing the elements in my works and by recognizing the specifications and characters of the substances as well as by knowing the various tissues I innovated new compositions in my works and by employing materials like metal, wood, glass, rope and cloth, I found a tangible and concrete expression along with worlds of the structure of surface, line and color. I believe the only thing which is beautiful, simple wondrous and can entice the emotions of man is artistic works. To innovate a new design and to makes the audience full of excitation and wonder I employed a combination of various and incongruous items to create a new and an independent element. Through this manner I tried to manifest a new world, i.e. a visual narration of whatever exists at the behind of this world and the nature, in other words, the expression of whatever does not exist but should be existed. Like a curious child I am searching ceaselessly to find and explore the new boundaries in my works and after any new experience I feel an exhilaration that the words cannot explain it, because I am convinced that the greatest master in the life is art and particularly the art of painting. I dance on the canvass due to the ecstasy of joining to the world of existence, or I experience the silence on it. I create a visual sense of touch by combining various substances. In the world of my paintings, I join the shattered world and I install the jig saw puzzles of my life as I wish to be, that is very free because I live the painting. Individual Exhibitions 1.
