Biography

Esmaeil Tehrani was born on April 17, 1958, in Tehran. As a child, he became interested in Iranian music when he heard the sound of Ahmad Ebadi on the radio and Morteza Mahjoubi on the piano. Also, after watching Santour solo by Hossein Malek on TV, he turned to play Santour. After that, with the encouragement of his father, he entered the National Conservatory of Music in 1339 and chose the dulcimer as a specialized instrument. During the conservatory, he benefited from professors such as Mohammad Heidari, Hossein Malek, Hossein Tehrani, Ms. Hagh Nazarian, Davood Jafari, and و and graduated from the Conservatory of Music in 1346. In 1347, he studied composition at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran. Among his professors in this course, we can mention Thomas Christian David and Alireza Mashayekhi. Ismail Tehrani studied Persian music with Noor Ali Boroumand. He immigrated to Austria in 1984 to continue his studies in composition and studied at the Vienna Academy of Music. He then emigrated to the United States to study conducting. He returned to Iran in 1379 and lived in Neishabour for some time. He also conducted the “City Orchestra” in March 2017. In February 2016, Ismail Tehrani was honored at the ceremony for the sixth year of Iranian music. In his absence, Milad Kiai received a plaque and a statue of “Salonova”. Some of Ismail Tehrani’s artistic activities are: Santour teaching at the National Conservatory of Music under the management of Hossein Dehlavi, director of the Isfahan Conservatory of Music 1350 Making music for the movie “Shahed” directed by “Reza Allamehzadeh” 1352 Management in the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents of Iran in 1974, Making music for the movie “Carpet” 1980, Crystal Simorgh The best soundtrack from the first Fajr Film Festival for composing the music for the film “Ya Zahra” in 1982, Making music for the film “A Lesson for a Sparrow” 1984 , Author and publisher of the book “Santour in the dialect of Saba” 2016 , Four Seasons Music Album with Bijan Bijani’s Voice, Sacrifice Season Music Album (shared with composers) with the voice of Siamak Aligholi, Membership in the Iranian Cinema Composers Association
