Mostafa Dashti
Biography
Dashti, Mostafa was born 1960 in Khash one of the cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province located in the extreme eastern section of Iran. He was taught calligraphy in Zahedan (the center of province) by the supervision of master Ahmad Abtahi and then from master Abdollah Faradi in the Society of Tehran Calligraphers and attended in the classes of Aydin Aqdashloo to learn designing and painting. From the first years of 1980s up to the present time he has followed painting professionally and within these years he has held more than 50 individual exhibitions and has participated were than 140 group exhibition in Tehran. His first exhibition was held in Seyhoon Gallery and the last one was held in Farahangsara-ye-Niyavaran. Most of his works have been displayed in Farhangsara-ye-Niyavaran (Niyavarn House of Culture), Mellat Pardis, Gallery of the Horses of Turkman Plain, Seyhoon Gallery, the House of Artists. He also has held two individual exhibitions in the Gallery of the United Arab Emirate and has participated in three group exhibitions in Germany and U.K. Most of his works have been sold in the auctions of Christies, Bonhams and Sotheby. His book under the title of Crystal Crabs and some other books in the field of painting have been published. The course of “Shooting Stars” is the best period of his job. Mostafa Dashti is secures his life through the sale of his calligraphic tableaus. Painting is his main attachment to life. Among his remarkable exhibition is “The Dilapidated House” which was held by the cooperation of Sassan Nasiri, Farid Jahangir, Shahrokh Ghiyasi and the deceased Ali Dashti.
