Autobiography of A. Pashai

Askari (A.) Pashai was Born on the 27th of February 1940, in Sari

I studied primary and high school in Sari. In 1338, I entered the Tehran University of Higher Education and majored in philosophy and educational sciences. During my student years, I have written articles on poetry and Buddhism in Hind Nu magazine, the magazine of the cultural section of the Indian Embassy. I was a teacher in Sari from 1341 to 1352, and from 1353, due to political reasons, I was banned from teaching and was forcibly transferred to Tehran. From 1994-1995, I was a fellow of the Japan Foundation for one year and did research on Japanese culture at the “Institute for the Study of Asian Cultures and Languages” affiliated with Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. In 1379, I taught Buddhism at Adian University of Qom. In 2000, I gave a lecture on the role of Buddhism in Islamic mysticism at the invitation of the AI Ken Institute.
